The Anti-HABI Toolkit
Online Workshops on Solutions and Measures for Preventing and Addressing Harassment, Assault, Bullying and Intimidation (HABI) in Archaeology
These interactive, collaborative workshops are part of an ongoing training series through which the organizers and the EAA aim to foster a greater sense of safety, empowerment, and well-being among EAA members. The sessions provide participants with information and practical tools to identify, prevent, and respond to harassment, assault, bullying, and intimidation (HABI) in both personal and professional contexts—including at EAA events such as the Annual Meetings.
They build on the success of two earlier HABI workshops held during the 29th and 30th EAA Annual Meetings in Belfast and Rome (2023 and 2024). These events are organized under the aegis of the Archaeology and Gender in Europe (AGE) EAA Community and are financially supported by the EAA.
In response to participant feedback, two HABI workshops will be held in 2025 outside of the Annual Meeting schedule, allowing broader access and avoiding overlap with the scientific programme. Maintaining the same structure—a theoretical and practical part—both workshops will take place online under the EAA umbrella.
