Announcement – EAA Special Meeting

Further to the invitation of 6 November to the EAA Special Meeting on Friday 9 January 2026, we are pleased to make the agenda and appendices available to the Membership here: 2026 Special Meeting. We kindly invite you to familiarise yourself with the Agenda and attend the meeting; the outcome of the subsequent per rollam voting is critical to the EAA’s immediate- and long-term governance and its future direction.

Please note that the meeting has been rescheduled to 14:00–17:00 CET, instead of 15:00–17:00 CET as previously communicated.

This Special Meeting has been convened by the EAA President following an email request from the ‘concernedeaa’ dated 7 October 2025. The Agenda exactly follows the points ‘concernedeaa’ raised in this and a subsequent email message of 18 November. The Agenda lists proposed motions as well as suggested changes to the EAA Statutes. The Agenda is accompanied by the following documents. Please read them all carefully.

  • Documents 1–4 detail the points and requirements raised by ‘concernedeaa’.
  • Document 5 provides guidelines on the protocols and technical procedures for participating in the Special Meeting, including requesting to speak.
  • Documents 6–7 offer context, commentary, and a timeline of events 18 August to 22 September 2025, from the EAA President, Secretary, and Vice-President.
  • Documents 8–9 provide an overview of the effects of the August–September 2025 events on the Belgrade Virtual Annual Meeting and the EAA more broadly.
  • Document 10 is the Statutes Committee’s adjustment of a Statutes amendment proposed by ‘concernedeaa’.

The ExB identified pools of suitably experienced long-standing male and female candidates to co-chair the Special Meeting. It is proposed that it will be co-chaired by Amanda Chadburn and Jesper Hansen.

The subsequent timeline is as follows:

  • Online voting takes place after the meeting, per rollam, between 16 and 31 January 2026. Draft minutes of the Special Meeting will be pre-circulated to aid voting.
  • Results of the per rollam voting and full minutes of the Special Meeting will be published by 11 February 2026.
