General info
The EAA Conference welcomes two main types of contributions: papers (oral presentations) and posters. Both formats offer participants a chance to share their research and insights with the community. The Call for Contributions (which includes both papers and posters) is typically open from mid December to early February.
- Papers: These are 15-minute oral presentations designed for structured and engaging sharing of research findings. Papers are submitted into thematic sessions that best align with their topic and are later presented within those sessions. One person can submit one paper as first/presenting author.
- Posters: Presented as e-posters in a digital format, they provide a visually rich way to showcase research. E-posters are submitted to the thematic sessions that best align with their topic; however, they are not typically presented within those sessions. Instead, they are accessible through the conference’s mobile app, web platform and onsite e-poster boards. Please note that e-poster files (PDF format) must be submitted in advance of the meeting, typically in July. One person can submit one poster as first/presenting author.
Evaluation
All contributions undergo a two-stage evaluation:
- Session Organisers: The organisers of the session to which your paper or poster has been submitted will conduct the initial review.
- Athens Scientific Committee: The Scientific Committee will then carry out a secondary review to ensure overall quality and consistency.
Payment requirements
To be included in the EAA 2026 Scientific Programme, all first authors of contributions—both papers and posters—must complete two payments by 29 April 2026:
- The EAA 2026 membership fee
- The EAA 2026 conference registration fee
Key information:
- Both payments must be made before the scientific programme is finalised, which typically occurs in spring, prior to the Annual Meeting.
- The same payment deadline also applies to session speakers - invited speakers, discussants, and keynote speakers.
- If payment is not received by the set deadline, the contribution is removed from the scientific programme.
- Co-authors are only required to settle the two payments if they are planning to attend the Annual Meeting (online or onsite in person). The 29 April payment deadline does not apply to co-authors.
