Contribution submissions - Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Please contact EAA Secretariat at helpdesk@e-a-a.org if you need any further information and/or assistance.

Contributions - general info

Do I need to pay anything to submit an abstract?

No payment is required to submit an abstract. You will only need an EAA account and ID. Current or past EAA members can find their ID in their profile at www.e-a-a.org and continue to Membership > My EAA Membership. New members can create an account and receive their EAA ID after completing the registration form.

When do I need to settle the membership and registration fee payments?

The deadline for main (first) authors of papers (oral presentations) to settle their EAA 2024 membership and EAA 2024 conference registration fee is 25 April 2024. For more ifnromation on payment deadlines, please go here.

Do co-authors need to pay as well?

Co-authors of contributions only need to settle the EAA membership and conference registration fees if they wish to attend the Annual Meeting (onsite or online).

Can I still make changes after submitting my abstract?

You can edit your submission at https://submissions.e-a-a.org/eaa2024/ until the end of the Call for Papers. Click on your submission title, then the Edit button next to the part of the submission you want to modify. After making the changes, submit the abstract again (ID remains unchanged).

What if the session I submitted to gets cancelled?

If a session doesn't get enough paper submissions (oral presentations), it might be cancelled or merged with another similar session. If the session is cancelled, submitted papers can:

  • be moved to another session if accepted by its organisers
  • be moved to a general* session if accepted
  • alternatively, authors can choose to resubmit their proposal as a poster
* General sessions don't have one specific theme and encompass contributions on various topics.

Can I present a paper online?

The Annual Meeting is planned as a hybrid event, allowing both onsite and online participation. All sessions will be hybrid.

How many contributions can one person present?

For the 30th Annual Meeting in Rome, one person can submit one paper (oral presentation) and one poster as the first - main author.  Please read more here.

One person can be co-author of other contributions (without a limit) – but please note that in this case we cannot ensure that the contributions are not scheduled simultaneously.

Can I submit a paper if I have proposed a session?

One person can submit one paper proposal (oral presentation) as main (first author) to any session (also the one they organise).

Can I submit the abstract but have a different first author?

Due the technical limitations, the person submitting the abstract must always be the first (main) author. The person submitting the abstract is also considered the contact person for the contribution and will appear in the Abstract and Programme Book as the first author

Must the abstract be written in English?

Presentations in major European languages other than English are not excluded but a visual presentation in English and an abstract in English are required in order for the abstract to be accepted and included in the scientific programme.
