EAA MONOGRAPH SERIES "THEMES IN CONTEMPORARY ARCHAEOLOGY"

SCOPE

The Themes in Contemporary Archaeology series provides cutting edge perspectives on key areas of debate in current archaeological enquiry, with a particular emphasis on European archaeology. The series has a broad coverage, encompassing all archaeological periods and all approaches. Examples of topics welcome in the series include, but are not limited to:

from theoretical debate to archaeological practice
landscape studies
bioarchaeology
issues of cultural heritage

The volumes are based on research presented at Annual Meetings of the European Association of Archaeologists. They include proceedings of individual sessions, which can be enlarged if necessary to provide coherence for publication. Each volume undergoes a strict peer-review process, ensuring volumes of high quality that capture current debates in the field.

submission and selection process

Session organisers at EAA Annual Meetings are welcome to put their session forward to the Series Editors’ attention before the Annual Meeting. In exceptional cases, Series Editors may choose to encourage session organisers to prepare the planned session for publication in advance of the Annual Meeting, but they will generally scout for suitable sessions at the Meeting, and request book proposals from selected sessions as soon as possible thereafter. If approved, session author(s) will be invited to prepare the volume for publication and to contact the publisher for the procedures related to the publication process (https://www.springer.com/series/16659; chris.wilby@springer.com).
