Trump Administration Threatens with Budgetary cuts on Heritage

On the 23rd of January, both the presidents of our sister organizations SAA and AIA, have posted messages to their members in relation to the possible plans of the new Trump´s administration to defund the USA National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts (see links below). Our USA colleagues have asked that non-US citizens currently not communicate with the US Congress or the White House, out of the sentiment that the US-based organizations can be more effective in working with their legislators without indications of “foreign interference” on cultural heritage issues. Beyond this, EAA will remain ready to second their action and give to them the solidarity and support that could better help to counteract this risk for the normal development of our practice and its service to our societies.

Felipe Criado-Boado, EAA President, on behalf of EAA Executive Board
