Research4Life: Access to peer-reviewed content for institutions in lower income countries, areas and territories
Research4Life (https://www.research4life.org) provides academic, government, research and not-for-profit institutions in lower income countries, areas and territories with online access to academic and professional peer-reviewed content. Research4Life aims to improve teaching, research and policy-making in health, agriculture, the environment and other life, physical and social sciences, including archaeology.
In the field of archaeology, publishers like Cambridge University Press, Elsevier, John Wiley & Sons (Books), John Wiley & Sons (Journals), Oxford University Press, SAGE Publishing, Taylor & Francis, Springer Nature, and University of Chicago Press make selected resources available via Research4Life. In addition to journal articles, books are also accessible.

Digitalisation is transforming our field and profession, thereby also altering the requirements for education and training. In this context, we have developed offerings at HTW Dresden to provide Archaeology students with essential knowledge of digital tools relevant to their field. The curriculum emphasizes the fundamentals of computer science and geoinformatics, such as mathematics, programming, photogrammetry and 3D imaging, surveying, remote sensing, geographic information systems, and their practical application in archaeology. This is complemented by sessions on academic writing, historical and theoretical backgrounds, ethical questions, research data management, as well as practical components.The programme is poised to launch in the forthcoming winter semester.
Additionally, as a kickoff, a virtual Summer School will be held from June 3 to 14, offering a succinct introduction to the programme's topics for interested individuals. Registration for this is open until May 12. Further information can be found here:
