The 1476 archaeologists who attended the EAA Meeting in Vilnius, Lithuania, came from 48 different countries within Europe and outside. Altogether 1293 papers were collected and presented in 108 sessions, along with 165 posters. Sessions and round tables were divided into six thematic areas:
- Interpreting the Archaeological Record;
- Managing Archaeological Heritage;
- Theoretical and methodological perspectives in archaeology;
- Archaeology of the Baltic Region;
- Science and Interdisciplinary in Archaeology;
- Archaeology without borders.
Chronologically, the contributions ranged from early Palaeolithic to the modernity and included current matters related with archaeology in Europe. The electronic and printed program contained abstracts of all the papers and posters, the same as a directory of the participants.
The academic sessions and roundtable discussions were complemented by a variety of social events and excursions to archaeological sites as well as by multiple exhibitions.
