Membership and Registration Requirements
Please note that all Annual Meeting participants have to be current (2025) EAA Members and have to register (pay Annual Meeting registration fee) for the Annual Meeting. If you are not a current EAA Member, you need to choose from membership categories first, the conference fee is counted accordingly thereafter (you can pay both registration fee and membership fee in a single transaction).
For more information about EAA membership, please go to www.e-a-a.org or contact EAA Secretariat at helpdesk@e-a-a.org.
Complimentary Annual Meeting Attendance for Ukrainian Colleagues
Ukrainian colleagues are invited to attend the 31st EAA Annual Meeting free of charge (without paying the membership and registration fees). Please contact the EAA Secretariat at helpdesk@e-a-a.org to take advantage of the complimentary Annual Meeting attendance.
Participation Guidelines for Colleagues from Russia and Belarus
Colleagues from Russia and Belarus have the option of attending, but only in their capacity as individual (non-affiliated) EAA Members; please read the EAA statement of 4 March 2022. Any mention
of affiliation to a Russian institution or funding agency must be avoided in all EAA contexts.
Participation Guidelines for Colleagues from Israel
With reference to the EAA Statement on Threats to Archaeology and Archaeologists arising from the Israel/Gaza crisis (November 2024) and in view of subsequent political and humanitarian developments, the EAA Executive Board has decided to suspend institutional cooperation with Israel until further notice.
Colleagues from Israeli institutions have the option of attending, but only in their capacity as individual (non-affiliated) EAA Members. Any mention of affiliation to an Israeli institution or funding agency must be avoided in all EAA contexts. Existing EAA practices exclude presentations about work in or from the occupied territories.
Policy on Misrepresentation of HABI Cases and EAA Membership Revocation
Any individual who is found to have misrepresented the status of a HABI case against them when completing the self-reporting disclaimer required to register for an Annual Meeting will be subject to review by the AAHC and could have their EAA membership permanently revoked. Two or more complaints within a ten-year period will result in a review by the AAHC, which could recommend permanent revocation of membership.
