Half Day Excursion - Badalona Museum

9 September

The Government of Catalonia declared the Roman town of Baetulo, founded in the 1st century BCE, a Cultural Asset of National Interest in 1995. It was one of the first settlements in the province of Hispania Tarraconensis and has left a rich archaeological heritage, in good part displayed in museum installations open to the public. At the seat of the museum you can view the remains of some baths and the Decumanus Maximus, which, together with the permanent exhibition, constitute one of the most important archaeological sites from the Roman period in Catalonia.

You can also visit an opulent domus, the House of the Dolphins; a domus with facilities for the production and storage of wine, the House of the Ivy; the pool and garden of a house that belonged to a family of patricians, the Garden of Quint Licini; and a barrel-vaulted conduit that supplied water to the town.
