EAA 12th ANNUAL MEETING IN CRACOW, POLAND
The 12th Annual Meeting of the European Association of Archaeologists took place in Cracow, Poland, 19-24 September 2006.

The 12th EAA conference 2006 was held between 19-24 September in Cracow. The meeting was organized by
the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the Institute of Prehistory, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, under the patronage of Professor Michał Seweryński, Minister of Science and Higher Education, Mr. Janusz Sepioł, Marshal of the Małopolska Region, and Professor Jacek Majchrowski, Mayor of the City of Krakow. Altogether 745 archaeologists from 38 countries attended the EAA Meeting in Cracow. Over 600 papers and posters, organized into 65 sessions and round tables, were delivered. The main themes were Managing the archaeological record and cultural heritage; Archaeology and material culture – interpreting the record; and Archaeology in the Modern World: Theoretical and Methodological Perspectives. Chronologically, the contributions ranged from early Palaeolithic to the modernity and included current matters related with archaeology in modern Europe. The pdf programme contains abstracts of all the papers and posters, the same as a directory of the participants. Different two-day excursions preceded the conference and various shorter excursions were offered on the Sunday.
